Often described as “a little peaky”, they also happen to be the only high performance tires to fit my 14" Watanabes. Not easy trying to maintain original tire sizes on a 31 year old sports car...

I lack rear wheel grip on corner exit and since suspensions were tuned by RE-Amemiya who knows his shit better than I do and since I don’t plan on putting a massive wing on my car haha, I hope these will help over the old Toyo Proxes 4 I am currently running... also hoping I can get at least 6 months out of them. Considering the use I have of my tires, I can only hope...

I’m surprised that they even made these tires in 14's. I’m sure they will improve grip quite a bit over the toyos.

I’d love to drive your car. A turbo FB has to be a blast.

It is an absolute blast :)

It also is a massive blast on my wallet when I get to the pump though lol

A quick behind the wheel run to test Harry’s laptimer I did a couple weeks ago

Aw man that was great! Once again, I would love to drive your car. It seems so much more raw than my rx-8

Well my car today is about 800 to 900lbs lighter than an Rx8 and it’s as powerful as the 4 port Renesis engine (190/195hp). The Turbo also adds quite a bit of torque to the equation which certainly helps a lot. I think you only got the 6 port 250hp version of the engine in North America though right?

Manuals came with the 6-port (240hp in US trim) and the automatic came with the 4-port. But yeah, FB’s are super-light. I’ve been in some with the 12a and even that was a fun car to drive. The output of your sa22c I imagine is near-perfect for that chassis.

I would like it to be around 210/220hp... I think it would perfect at this level of power. Intercooling the engine actually would push it there. Original turbos are not that much less powerfull as they came out with 165hp out of the factory. Also, for some 210hp FB drooling...

NA engine though. I would LOOOOOVE to have a NA SA22C producing this kind of power...

Really? Okay, off to check Tire Rack now. Getting so tired of trying to find decent street-able track tires for the 15s on my 280Z. I really liked the AVS ES100s I had, but they don’t make my size anymore.

Now I’m more confused. Tire Rack’s site seems to indicate the Advan Neova AD07 has only 3 sizes, 2 for 16s, one for 17s. Different tire, or are they not carrying all the sizes? How/where did you find your 14s?

On the upside, they do have the A048 in my size, though. Hmmm. I was going to go with a new set of 17s and track-only tires (maybe R888 or similar), and put nice but street-only tires on the 15s for shows and drives. Maybe I need to reconsider that.

In any case, enjoy the new tires! Can’t wait to hear what you think of them.

TireRack doesn’t have all the sizes... Check Yokohama’s website for a proper size list... They are in 195/60/14. Also if you want the ultimate dry and wet tire, you can go withthe Advan AD08R in 205/50/15... They rock. HARD!

You might have to upgrade your suspensions for those though, they really have a TON of grip.

Thanks for the info! It was surprising to see how many sizes Tire Rack *doesn’t* have. There are a lot of holes there. I wonder what other brands/models sizes they don’t have. I’ll have to re-research all my options, this time though the manufacturer sites. Oh well. Anyway, the AD08R looks like a very interesting option. I’ve upgraded the suspension to Tokico springs and cartridges (the blue tubes), as well as replacing all the bushings with urethane. If that turns out still not to be enough, there’s always coil-overs I suppose. Thanks again.
